SHOPPERS will be able to search an online database of approved businesses under a new Trading Standards initiative.

A Cambridgeshire County Council spokesman also said the Buy With Confidence scheme will “help resolve any disputes” and “protect businesses from malicious or unfair complaints”.

Members of the public can nominate traders to join the scheme by emailing bwc@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or calling Cambridgeshire Direct on 0345 0455206.

People can then visit www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk to see those who have signed up and been approved.

The scheme will be launched on Monday (March 19) and there will be an information roadshow at Tesco in Wisbech on Friday (March 23) between 1pm and 3pm.
