I AM writing with regard to the ill-considered 'Christmas decorations' at the Tourist Information Centre in Wisbech.
I am appalled that such a 'decoration' could be countenanced particularly in the light of local on-going campaigns against further windfarms being built in the area.
Also, where windfarms are already in service in Fenland there are many residents local to them, together with people who were actually involved in the planning processes, who now, with the benefit of hindsight and experience, are no longer in favour of them.
Let us remember that the Tourist Information Service is funded by taxpayers, many of whom do not agree with the sentiment that wind turbines are 'in keeping with the Fens of today'.
Also, I would be interested to hear the views of those residents living in close proximity to the turbine in Whittlesey which showered their homes, gardens and cars with lumps of ice recently.
I don't think they would see turbines as having anything to do with the spirit of Christmas.
