THE layout out the South Brink/old bridge junction in Wisbech has possibly caused more difficulties and frustration than was possibly planned for.

I have for years always approached this junction to go onwards in the left hand lane, which I inadvertently did one evening last week only to upset another driver.

On Saturday when I approached this junction as one should, I had another driver who was in the wrong lane again upset at my manoeuvre.

I feel that it is necessary to make the junction changes clearer with additional road signs approaching the junction and written on the road.

It will obviously take some time for the regular drivers to take on board these changes, but in the meantime possibly other drivers should be more tolerant and expect some people to make honest mistakes without the 'gestures' and threatening nature of those individuals.

However, for what purpose were these changes made in the first place?
