AS a follow on to your piece last week about crime in Sutton Bridge, many residents in certain areas of the town are getting problems with anti social behaviour.

I know of at least three incidents this week alone which have not been reported to the police.

People are getting verbal abuse, missiles thrown at their property and them, general nuisance making, criminal damage and general trouble causing.

Lots of the villagers know who some of these youths are, but wont report them for fear of retaliation.

I looked at the crime statistics web site you mentioned in last weeks edition.

Going on the police statistics there, I found that anti social crime for the Sutton Bridge area is nearly 73per cent of all crimes committed in the village.

That's reported crimes, how much goes unreported I wonder? I would be surprised if we get 73per cent of the policing for the area allocated to anti social behaviour.

This week we have had a letter come round our area from the police Anti Social Behaviour unit asking if anyone has had any trouble at all to report it.

I would just like to say that if all incidents no matter how small were reported, it may be, we as local residents can get some more police involvement to stop this problem, and bring the perpetrators or their parents to task.

I think lots of people wont complain to the police in case nothing is done or for fear of the problem escalating for that individual.

I would urge all residents to report anything and everything they see or hear which could be classed as anti social. Abuse/threats/damage/ shouting/making excessive noise even if it's not directed that them.

For the safety and peace of our village, please report all incidents to the local anti social behaviour team on - 01775 764681 or the normal local police number 01775 72233.
