Perhaps we should stop paying council tax and then maybe we will get some action

IT is interesting to see that the new pool for Chatteris will probably not be built for another 12 years.

When I first moved into the town 40 years ago, I was told that it would not be long before we had a new swimming pool in the town.

I was told that the then Urban District Council had almost three quarters of the money towards the cost of the pool.

It does seem that Chatteris is the forgotten town in Fenland.

We pay higher rates than most and we have fewer services than any of the other towns and we now have fewer facilities than we had 40 years ago.

The roads and pavements are in a very poor condition.

Some of the councillors should try cycling or walking. Maybe we should all refuse to pay our rates in Chatteris until it is recognised by Fenland and Cambridge.
