WHAT a disgrace! Two million pounds was given by the Lottery to Wisbech Library, who have now started new charges such as £1.25 for OAPs to borrow one audio book, which was previously free. Have they squandered the whole two million pounds on refurbishment and “state of the art” bathrooms, instead of ensuring that their public services to OAP’s and others remained? The Lottery donated the excessive amount of money for the benefit of the public, without whom the library would close. Whose decision was it to spend the entire two million in decoration, and not keep at least half of it back to run it successfully? It was absolutely fine before, with many more books available, and a great deal more space than the “style over substance” place we have now.
