Keeping up literacy

I WOULD like you to pay closer attention to grammar in your publication. In an article last week your reporter wrote that the staff who run the after school club in Emneth were forced to tell parents and children that it was being forced to close because

I WOULD like you to pay closer attention to grammar in your publication.

In an article last week your reporter wrote that the staff who run the after school club in Emneth were forced to tell parents and children that it was being forced to close because "there is just six weeks left".

It should have read that there *are* six weeks left.

I know that you are only a small provincial newspaper and that

educational standards and literacy is not very good in the Wisbech area but I consider it to be the duty of any publication to set standards of excellence.

Assuming that the reporters use a computer to compile their reports, I would recommend that they learn how to use the spell check facility.
