FENLAND: I'm trying to find a woman who may have information about my Great Grandfather

PUBLISHED: 10:22 08 January 2009 | UPDATED: 08:50 02 June 2010

I am trying to contact a Rosemary Taylor (maiden name) she has a sister Elizabeth and her mother is Ethel and father George. She used to work in Curl's ( now Debenhams) in Norwich and live at 3 Press Lane, Alysham Rd, Norwich at one time.

The reason I wish to contact her is that her Grandfather, my Great Grandfather Joe Wilson who was thought to be a 'foundling' left on someone's doorstep in 1881 possible St Ives. I believe that she may have information on the above.

My only early listing for my great grandfather is in the 1891 Census of Hemingford Grey as an 11year old living with a Mary Stocker as head of household. I have not found any evidence of a birth certificate and do not know how he got the surname of Wilson. It is secret that I would love to uncover. I would really appreciate it if you could print this for me in your newspaper.

I have attached a photograph of Joe, taken outside his son-in-law's house in Upwell.

Thanking you,

Jayne Wilson
