THIS is an appeal from the heart. In our villages we are at risk of losing our most valuable services. Already many have had to close and are gone.

We have saved our most valuable Post Office and others. Now we must go on and support our small shops because we need them.

The corner shop where we bought our sweeties and small gifts when young must still be there when we are older. That warm smile, friendly chat, personal service must be valued and saved. We meet friends and chat while shopping, friendly chat that warms our hearts on a cold day.

This makes our day, unlike the fast impersonal large stores where people rush around, don't care and may almost knock you over in their hurry.

So readers if you want to keep your local services please support them. We need them.
