WITH reference to your article in Friday's edition of The Cambs Times concerning the closure of the A141 following an accident, We would like to thank all the emergency services, i.e. the ambulance, police and fire service for their prompt and careful attention in releasing our daughter.

She was trapped in her car following the accident, through no fault of her own.

Our daughter would also like to thank the gentleman named Paul who held her head for 20 minutes whilst she was being released and also anyone else who helped at the scene.

As regards turning off the traffic lights in the town centre we agree with the spokesman for the Cambridgeshire County Council that this would only cause more gridlock and possibly more accidents.

Surely a 45 minutes delay is nothing compared to the pain and suffering caused by the accident.
