1940s night raises more than £1,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support
A cheque to the value of £1,410 was presented at The Gallery Restaurant in Wisbech, to the Wisbech Group of Macmillan Cancer support. This was for the sum raised at a 1940's evening of entertainment held at the beginning of February at St. Peter's Church Hall Wisbech.

The Wisbech Group of Macmillan Cancer Support have benefited recently from
Mrs. Jean Kirkham of Wisbech who had celebrated her 65th birthday, with family and friends. At the party, people were invited to put donations into a small wishing well in lieu of presents. This, along with a raffle realised a sum of £420.

Jackie Leet, who organised the event at St Peter’s Church Hall, in Wisbech, at the beginning of February presented the cheque to the group last week.
The group also bagged another £420 from monies raised at Jean Kirkham’s 65th birthday, where family and friends were invited to put donations into a small wishing well in lieu of presents as well as enter a raffle.
