One of the most popular and well-loved tales will be brought to life by the Wisbech Players later this year.
Far From The Madding Crowd tells the story of the beautiful and independent Bathsheba Everdene who is courted by three men, all from very different backgrounds and lifestyles.
The choices she makes and the consequences of that unfold against a backdrop of life in rural Dorset in the 1840s.
Thomas Hardy’s classic story has been adapted by acclaimed playwright Jessica Swale and promises to be a crowd-pleaser.
Read-throughs take place on Thursday 11 and Thursday 18 January from 7.30pm at Mendi’s with auditions on Tuesday 16, same time and place.
There are five male and four females roles up for grabs.
The production sees a welcome return to the director’s chair for Barbara Mews.
The play will be performed at the Angles Theatre in Wisbech from Tuesday May 8 to Saturday May 12.
