How did the Victorian era change the look of the English garden, how did new technology help and how did women become involved in gardening?

These are just some of the questions looking to be answered during a Victorian Garden workshop at Peckover House later this month.

Allison Napier, gardener in charge, said: “The Victorian garden saw so much change.”

“This workshop aims to show how important the garden was to the Victorians and how so many plants that we take for granted these days are here courtesy of Victorian plant-hunters”, she added.

The Victorian Garden workshop will be held on Friday October 23, from 10am to 1pm, with coffee and biscuits.

For tickets; £25, or further information, tel Peckover House on 01945 583463.
