The Wisbech Players will bring ‘a dark and sinister tale about one of the best-known names in English literature’ to life at the end of March.
‘Jekyll and Hyde’, directed by Gay Hoyle and written by Leonard Caddy, is at The Angles Theatre in Wisbech from Tuesday March 28 to Saturday April 1.
The story begins with Dr Jekyll on the brink of discovering the key to man’s inner reality. One evening he experiments on himself and finds that his formula works. Unfortunately, he finds that his ‘real’ self turns out to be the monster Edward Hyde and it sets in motion a trail of horror.
The cast consists of Jekyll/Hyde (Martin Lightburn), Dr Lanyon (Ian Jones), Utterson (Alex Lester), Poole (Mark Fearnley), Celestine (Lynne Nunn), Charlotte (Helen Jones), Hilda (Wendy Coles) and Penny (Linda Ekins).
