Play in a Day Workshops
Next week, to give children a spring into Spring, the Angles will be holding three days of workshops.
There are two age groups, five to eight and nine to 12 years-old and it costs £10 a day.
Starting at 10 in the morning, you will do some drama warm-ups, shake off your shyness and get to know everyone in your session.
Then you will start creating your own play to perform within the day, involving music, movement, acting as a group and some solo lines - it will all be decided by you – with guidance from your workshop leader.
You will perfect your play and then perform it to your parents at 3pm.
The workshops will be held on Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 February.
Thursday Whatever! The Jenson Duo
Jenson Duo is made up of singer Vicki Mason and songwriter/pianist Jenny Gould. They perform a wide selection of songs from musical theatre through jazz standards to comedy cabaret numbers and original songs written by Jenny.
Vicki is a professional actress and also runs a musical theatre school for children and teaches singing.
Jenny is a composer, songwriter and pianist, who also performs her own songs at gigs around London and elsewhere.
She has recently released her first EP of original songs.
Like Vicki, she also works with children and has toured her own children‘s opera ‘Prince Caspian’ to primary schools around the country.
They will be performing on Thursday February 18 from 8pm
A tribute act - “A Date With Doris Day”
Anette Mutton is a local girl who has made it as a professional touring actress with her own company.
The last time she performed at the Angles to a virtually sell out audience was a tribute to the wonderful singer Marlene Dietrich, in September 2014.
She return’s this spring with her new creation, a tribute to the famous Hollywood star Doris Day.

Find out about her life off screen and enjoy hearing her best known numbers from “Sentimental Journey” to “Que Sera Sera”.
A Date with Doris Day takes place on Friday February 19 from 7.30pm
Angles Open Day
On Saturday 20, at the end of the half term week, the Angles is throwing open its doors for an open day from 10am until 4pm.
There will be tours and demonstrations to give you a feel for what goes on behind the scenes when putting on a performance.
There will also be drama and creative workshops to keep children entertained. Everything throughout the day is free.
