The Hermitage Ensemble Male Voice Choir will perform a concert of Russian Orthodox and Folk Music at Walpole St Peter Church next month.
The choir, from St Petersburg, Russia, is a group of five male soloists who sing unaccompanied (Russian Orthodox Church music never was accompanied by instruments).
“As individuals, they are at home in the opera houses and concert halls of St Petersburg, but they see it as their goal to maintain the Russian traditions of church and folk music and to bring that sound to the West,” say promoters.
The concert takes place on Friday March 24. Starts 7.30pm.
