Residents will have a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes at Mintlyn Crematorium on Saturday, 29 July 2017, when its doors are opened to the public.

The open day, which takes place between 11am and 3pm, will enable people to speak to staff about the building, the grounds, the cremation process and memorials.

They will be able to find out about how the crematorium operates and discover the truth behind the myths or maybe even confront some taboos.

Cllr Kathy Mellish, Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk cabinet member for human resources, facilities and shared services, said: “Often the only time people visit Mintlyn is when they have lost a love one. At that difficult time it is not always easy to ask questions

“I hope that by having the open day we are giving people the chance to be able to ask those questions and to find out more about the cremation process.”
