THE WISBECH Town squad for next season will be revealed in greater detail over the coming days following Monday's pivotal players' meeting.

Existing squad members and potential new players were invited to sign up for next season and management duo Ian Jones and Mel Mattless were keen to collect as many signatures as possible.

With forms yet to be processed, the Fenmen squad remains unknown but Mattless was positive about the meeting.

He said: "There were probably 40 or more players there even though the bad weather kept a few away.

"And there were some unfamiliar faces as well as the more recognisable squad members.

"Unfortunately, I can't confirm who has signed until we have processed all the forms and that will be over the weekend."

Details remain sketchy but Paul Cousins is one of the players who has committed to Wisbech for next season.

Ely skipper Andy Chatters, who has been linked with a move to Fenland Park, was not at the meeting.

Also missing was March Town United's Luke Pepper, who has now pledged himself to the Hares.

THE FENMEN will face their former manager in the first game of their FA Cup campaign.

Wisbech have been drawn against Holbeach United, now managed by former Fenmen boss Dick Creasey, in the extra preliminary round.

The game will be played at Holbeach on August 18.

Wisbech face another away fixture in the FA Vase second qualifying round. They will travel to Walsham-le-Willows on September 22.
