QUICK-HITTING Wisbech Town smashed their way to the Jaidka Cup Final last week after a six-wicket victory over Yaxley.
Opener Gary Freear bludgeoned 52 as Wisbech successfully chased down 145 for victory in the semi-final of the prestigious Twenty20 competition.
Freear took two wickets to end with figures of 2-35 as Yaxley posted 144-9 from their 20 overs. Craig Johnson (3-26) did the most damage for Wisbech with captain James Williams (1-23), Ben Allsop (1-21) and Jack Hastings (1-10) taking a wicket apiece.
In reply, Wisbech were just 11-0 after three overs but Freear soon opened his shoulders to fire his side to the final. He was supported superbly by Williams (37) and David Wood (26 not out).
Wisbech will face either Castor or Bourne in the final.
