Wisbech Town have seen one striker depart – and have made an approach to sign another.

Chris Bacon has left the Fenmen to join Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division relegation battlers Stamford.

Bacon has managed only five goals for Wisbech since making a surprise return to the Elgoods Fenland Stadium in the early weeks of the current season.

But Fenmen chief Brett Whaley is bidding to bolster his attacking options with a swoop for prolific frontman Lewis Leckie.

The Oakham United ace has scored 21 times in 22 appearances for his current club this season.
