Wisbech Town Hockey Veterans are hoping to end their National Knockout Finals this weekend jinx this weekend.

The vets have fallen at the last hurdle in the competition on three occasions, and are hoping to go one step further this year when they take on Norwich City Dragons at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The club is also looking to give long-serving former New Zealand international star Brad Apted a perfect send off with victory.

Apted has been at the club for 18 years, and will hope to end his stint on a high before returning to his homeland.

Wisbech’s clash with the Dragons gets underway at midday in the capital on Sunday (May 1), and for more information, visit www.englandhockey.co.uk/tickets.
