The 15-week programme - excluding school holidays - began this week and is open to current members as well as new players.

There will be two sessions running every Monday in the sports hall of the Thomas Clarkson Community College. The first, from 6pm-7:30pm, is for 7-12 year-olds and the second, from 6:30pm-8pm, is for 13-16 year-olds. Sessions cost £3 and will be run by level two coaches.

Dom Stannard, the club’s Youth Development Officer, said: “We have got seven youth teams for all ages. It was a really successful season last year and we are looking to build on that.

“We are keen for young players to join us as we are hoping to help turn them into future first team cricketers.”
