Dick Creasey was full of praise for strikers Harry Limb and Alex Beck after the duo found the net in Wisbech Town’s 3-0 success over Kirby Muxloe on Saturday afternoon.

Billy Smith also netted as the Fenmen extended their unbeaten run to nine matches in all competitions, and the Wisbech boss dished out the compliments to his attacking pairing.

“That was the first game Michael Frew’s missed out on since Eaton Socon,” Creasey told the club’s official YouTube channel.

“He’s got a little knee injury but that’s not the reason we left him out – it was purely that Alex Beck needed to play and I was pleased for him.

“He worked his socks off in really hard conditions, led the line well and got a goal so I’m really pleased for him.

“I’m pleased for Harry too. He didn’t quite play like he has been but he got his goal.

“He’s moved onto 16 for the season now and for a 17-year-old boy that’s not bad at any level of football and long may that continue.

“We’ve got to keep his feet firmly on the floor and not let him get carried away with anything. I’m sure there’s more goals in him.”

Wisbech’ unbeaten run can hit double-figures tomorrow night. but standing in their way is Boston Town, who secured a point at the weekend thanks to an impressive 0-0 against Harborough Town.

Tomorrow’s encounter (home, 7.45pm) serves as the first of three tricky festive fixtures, but Creasey says his men are rightfully full of confidence and is eyeing an unbeaten end to 2016.

“We need players to be able to step up to the plate when they’re called upon and do the job and that’s what we’ve got at the moment,” he said.

“It helps when you keep winning because the mood in the changing room is buoyant which it should be.

“We’re heading into a tough run of games but if we can go through them without losing a game then I’ll be more than happy.”
