WISBECH Tennis Club opened their grass court season with a fun session for juniors on Saturday. Many juniors aged between 6 and 13 years enjoyed themselves learning new shots, serving, playing fun games and matchplay.
On Sunday, 31 players took part in the American style tournament for the John Bown Trophies, which will be held on a yearly basis, these trophies were presented by his widow Mrs Brenda Bown, to Ben Goose and Jan Wyldman.
Both events had numerous spectators giving support to the players which was much appreciated in the warm weather.
Junior Club night is Friday evening 4 - 6 pm - new members are welcome.
Adult Club nights are held on Monday and Thursday evening, weather depending, 6.30pm to dusk, why not pop along for a game or two, a friendly welcome awaits you, there is no pressure to commit yourself to competitive team playing, if you would rather just play socially.
