Wisbech Tennis Club kicked off a week of matches with a ladies friendly against a Terrington Coaching Group.

Pauline Maris and Sheila Hennessy won 6-1, 7-5 then lost 4-6, 4-6. Janice England and Jacqui West lost 6-0, 7-5 then 6-2, 6-3.

Wisbech Mixed A had a close game playing Ketton at home in the Hunts and Peterborough league. The team of Gary Fitzjohn and Margaret Pendall, and Paul Garwell and Jane Page lost the match 5-3.

The Wisbech Mixed B played their first home match in the Hunts and Peterborough League on Friday evening. The newly installed floodlights were put to good use as each set played was evenly matched, with lots of long rallies and a fitting outcome of a 4-4 draw.

The match was competitive but played in good spirit, and the team was Stuart Jupp and Kitty Hall, and Roger Frusher and Sue Pitcher.
