Wisbech star Liam Knight continued his rise in the sport of cycling by smashing the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) record last weekend.
Knight, 22, combined with Loughborough University team-mates Tom Ward and Jonny Wake to break the record in the men’s team sprint at the Track Cycling Championships in Manchester.
The trio sped to a new record in a time of 48.218 seconds – 1.5 seconds quicker than the previous record – to beat Strathclyde University and retain their gold medal.
Knight also competed in the men’s sprint, finishing in fourth-place.
