Things are getting better and better for the youngsters at Wisbech St Mary Purple under 8s.
The young side, who have players from all around Fenland, clinched the Whittlesey Cup for the second consecutive year last weekend and haven’t lost a match in league football for two seasons.
Coached by Craig Davis, the starlets have netted over 250 goals in their last two Fenland and District Youth Soccer League campaigns, with star man Jake Gibson notching a staggering 85 goals last season alone.
Davis’ side will ply their trade in a higher division next season after gaining promotion.
The Purples lifted the cup after overcoming fellow local side Acorns 2-1, and will celebrate by taking part in a tournament at West Ham United’s Upton Park.
