Wisbech Swimming Club swam to an impressive 25 first places in round two of the Junior Fenland League.

Dozens of swimmers travelled to Newmarket last Saturday to take part in 45 events, with the Fenland club also notching 13 second places and three thirds – bagging 22 personal bests along the way.

Multiple winners included: Harry Smith, who triumped in the nine years 25m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 10 and under 50m butterfly, Ben Gilbert, who swam to success – and personal bests - in the 10 and under 50m breaststroke and freestyle, Connor Loughlin who won in the 11 and under 50m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke, Code Wedge, who took first in the 11 and under 50m freestyle with a personal best and the 12 and under 50m butterfly, Louis Rowell in the 12 and under 50m backstroke and butterfly (both PBs) and Billy Lane, who triumphed in the 13 and under 50m breastroke (PB) and butterly.

The swimmers return to the pool for round two of the Anglian Leage tomorrow (April 16), before hosting the third round of the Junior Fenland League at the Hudson Leisure Centre on June 11.
