Wisbech I 2 Dereham I 4

RELEGATION-THREATENDED Dereham fought hard to beat Wisbech.

Wisbech started well and saw Joe Melton's short corner effort was cleared off the line.

It was only a short reprieve for Dereham though as Wisbech continued to push and took the lead through Karle Belding.

The lead was short lived as Dereham scored from their first short corner of the day and then went ahead early in the second half.

Dan Martell won Wisbech a penalty stroke which Jon Shippey converted.

But Dereham exploited some slack defending to score twice more.

Wisbech visit City of Peterborough II tomorrow at 11.30am.

Boston I 0 Wisbech II 9

HAT-TRICKS from Tom Peggs and Richard Claxton helped Wisbech demolish Boston.

Wisbech went with a very young but skilful side and with the experience of Mark Littlechild, Shaun and Claxton they soon took a hold of the game.

The first goal came from quick passing and a great run into the D by Matt Pooley who finished perfectly.

Wisbech never looked back; solid defending from Andrew Wager and Josh Yates meant that the forwards could keep on scoring.

Peggs scored three excellent goals and Pooley got a second.

Tom Jupp and Matt Esser worked hard in midfield to get the ball into the D to get short corners, which is where Claxton and Sam Dunn worked their magic and slotted away the remaining goals.

Wisbech V 6 Long Sutton III 0

WISBECH moved six points clear of neighbours Long Sutton after comfortably beating them.

The game started with a swift Wisbech move ending in a neat finish from Carl Pope and Wisbech's second came from Hugo Atkins.

Long Sutton were denied by some top class keeping from Simon Freear in his first game.

Edward Atkins pounced on a rebound to put Wisbech 3-0 up at the break.

Howard Atkins scored from the top of the D for 4-0 and the same man burst through the Sutton defence from his own half and rifled into the top corner.

This confident Wisbech display was finished of in true style with a reverse stick shot by Carl Pope flying past the keeper.
