WISBECH Ladies Hockey Club First team won the Ida Hassall Tournament in Peterborough for the third time in a row last weekend.

Wisbech began well despite having a number of unfamiliar faces in the side and won their opening game 4-1 with goals from Laura Overland (2), Erika Burrell and Lisa Williamson.

Peterborough Ladies were tougher opposition in the next match and took the lead from a short corner before Laura Overland equalised. Wisbech pressed hard for a winner and found it through Lisa Williamson after a good move around the edge of the area.

In the final game against Bourne Connie Anchor, who stepped up from the third team, slotted the ball home to put Wisbech one-up.

Bourne battled well but Wisbech were on top throughout and clinched victory, and the trophy, when Lisa Williamson scored her third of the day.
