Wisbech Inline Skating Club hit the road running with five medals in first event of 2016

Wisbech Inline Speed Skating Club were medal-mad in their first race of 2016, after some excellent performances bagged five medals for the club.

The skaters travelled to Ashbourne, Derbyshire on Sunday January 24 to continue the 2015/16 indoor season.

Team Coach Mike McInerney was joined by nine other skaters racing to secure a place on the podium and whilst the floor surface was challenging, Wisbech still managed to shine.

Once again, the team brought home medals with Mike McInerney finishing third in the Seniors Category, Jo Tidman third in the Masters Category, Eve McInerney won gold in Category Two, Flynn McGurk finished second in Category Three and young Arthur Buckler was runner-up in Category Seven.

The team are now training for the next indoor race which is on home soil on Saturday February 20 at Skaters Roller Rink in Walpole Highway, from 4.30 to 7pm.
