A Wisbech girl is heading to Wimbledon after qualifying for the national finals.
Sophie Tjurina, who is a member of LK Tennis Academy in Wisbech, started her winning streak after playing the first round stages of a national Road To Wimbledon event for under 14s at her home club.
Winning the first round meant she qualified for the county finals held at Hill’s Road, Cambridge.
Having a bye in the first round meant she only had one match on Saturday winning 6-3 6-1.
On the Sunday she won her semi-final match against Gabriella Zailer-Fletcher 6-2 6-4 and went on to win the final 4-6 7-6 10-5.
It means she has qualified for the national finals held at Wimbledon in August.
The finals will include Sophie spending a week in London at Wimbledon and time spent on court with Tim Henman.
