GARY FREEAR proved to be captain marvel again as he scored two centuries for Wisbech Town Cricket Club's first team.

He smashed 102 not out in an eight-wicket win over Foxton on Saturday before hitting 116 for Wisbech's second Sunday side in a 148-run Rutland League Division Seven victory over Weldon.

Saturday's win saw Wisbech stay top of the division.

Foxton batted first and scored 196-6.

Craig Johnson was Wisbech's chief wicket-taker with 3-35, Gary Freear took 1-12 and James Williams (1-46) and Ben Allsop (1-63) took a wicket each.

Wisbech easily reached their target.

Gary Freer's efforts were assisted by Ben Allsop (46), James Williams (38 not out) and Damien Coad (3) as Wisbech finished on 197-2.

Gavin Plume (69 not out), Dom Stannard (48) and bowler Matthew Parrin jnr (3-13) were the key men in Wisbech second team's six-wicket Hunts Division Two defeat of Nassington seconds.

Paul Strickle (2-37), Brad Apted (1-24) and Lyndon Waters (1-62) helped Parrin jnr get Nassington all out for 161.

Openers Plume and Stannard led the Wisbech response and Grant Clarke weighed in with 24 runs as Wisbech finished on 163-4.

Zak Brown took 4-29 to help Wisbech thirds continue the club's fine day with a narrow two-run home win over Hockwold in the West Norfolk Division Three.

Wisbech batted first and openers Adrian Clare (39) and Declan Smee (35) scored well.

Wisbech N0. 7 Sam Darlow chipped in with 34 not out as Wisbech finished on 165-5.

Hockwold came back with 163 all out as the match went to the wire.

Brown was assisted by Ryan Van Waterschoot (3-29) and Richard Harnwell who took three catches.

Bowlers Robbie Harris (5-20) and Martin Parrin (4-35) were the star men for Wisbech fourths as they lost by 11 runs to Swanton Morley seconds in the West Norfolk Division Four.

Swanton Morley batted first and scored 176 all out.

No. 8 Lawrence Twell was Wisbech seconds top scorer with 19 not out as they finished on 165-8.

Gary Freear's 116 was aided by a 100 from Grant Clark and 59 from Keith Jakings as Wisbech's second Sunday side cruised to their easy victory over Weldon.

Wisbech finished on 309-5 and Welson were all out for 161.

Gary Freear was also in fine form with the ball, taking 3-21 but Carl Pope returned Wisbech's best bowling figures of 3-13.

Matthew Parrin jnr took 2-34 and Ryan Van Waterschoot (1-9) and Grant Clark (1-15) took a wicket each.

Gary's brother Simon Freear scored 104 not out in Wisbech third Sunday team's six-wicket Fenland Trophy win over Chattteris.

Chatteris batted first and scored 168-9. Max Kelly was their top scorer with 45.

Martin Parrin took 5-17 and Simon Freear, Harley Hollis ( both 1-24) and Kieran Jaynes (1-23) took a wicket each.

n Everyone at Wisbech Cricket Club wish Declon Smee a full recovery after he ruptured his Achilles taking a quick single for the thirds on Saturday at Hockwold.
