THE Fenmen finished their Ridgeons Premier Division campaign 16th, four places above relegation.

They signed off with a 4-1 home defeat to Wroxham, who finished fifth.

Stuart Ablett gave Wisbech an early lead but Wroxham were 2-1 up by half-time and scored twice more in the second half.

The previous weekend's 4-1 hammering of Felixstowe and Walton United guaranteed Wisbech's safety and meant they did not have to endure nail-biting final day of the season drama.

Norwich United secured their survival with a Keith Hetherington hat-trick helping them to a 3-1 win at Histon Reserves.

Harwich and Parkeston's 3-1 defeat at Woodbridge meant they occupied the final relegation spot.

Harwich will be relegated unless either champions Lowestoft Town are promoted and not replaced or Tiptree United move to the Essex Senior League.

Newmarket Town, Hadleigh United and Debenham LC, who thrashed March 7-0 at the GER on Saturday, have been promoted from the Ridgeons First Division.
