WISBECH triathlete Andrew Jakeman, 20, has been selected along with 77 others to compete for Tri UK, the biggest triathlon team in the UK.

Team members were selected from hundreds of athletes who sent in their sporting CVs.

Andrew attended the team launch in Yeovil, Somerset on April 18 to meet the rest of the team, receive team kit and attend a team/media briefing.

In only his second season in the sport, Andrew will be competing in the national sprint triathlon championships in June with the hope of qualifying for the World Age Group sprint triathlon Championships held in Australia later on in the year.

Andrew is currently finishing his degree in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Hertfordshire and when he is home trains with Wisbech Swimming Club and trains alongside his brother David who is an accomplished cyclist.
