West Herts 6 Wisbech 4

WISBECH almost made a stunning comeback as they fell to another league defeat.

Early errors gifted West Herts a two-goal lead and they grabbed a third from a short corner just as Wisbech began to come to terms with the bouncy pitch.

Their cause wasn't helped when Jon Shippey was shown a yellow card.

Wisbech started the second half looking for a goal to bring them back into the game. Sadly they were caught on the break and fell four goals behind.

Drew Harvey set up Brad Apted with a powerful run and good pass to get Wisbech on the scoresheet.

Sam Markille then gave them real hope with a goal from a short corner.

West Herts got a fifth, again catching Wisbech as they pushed forward in search of more goals.

Wisbech also had Karle Belding yellow carded but fought on.

A second Markille goal was followed by a breathtaking reverse stick strike from Apted and Wisbech were back within a goal with a couple of minutes left. West Herts scored with the last hit of the game to complete a 6-4 victory.

Next week Wisbech host Champions St. Albans (2.30pm)
