Members from Wisbech speed skating competed in the Flanders Grand Prix in Belgium.
Six members from Wisbech Inline Speed Skaters took part in the annual event at the weekend.
The team were put through their paces at the highly competitive three day event and impressed with their achievements.
Skaters competed in 300m time trials, track races and road races.
Youngster Arthur Buckler had a tough event after moving up a category to the pupil boys. He was triumphant in each of his five races, but had tough competition with his closest rival just a few skate lengths behind him during each race.
The current British champion showed great determination and kept a cool head in the midst of some tough racing and is the first British skater in many years to have clinched back to back overall victories at the event.
Twin sisters, Eve and Lucy McInerney finished in the top half of the overall results for the junior girls category.
Eve was the only skater from the UK to complete the 16km road race event and finished in a respectable 13th place in the final results and Lucy finished in 17th place out of 34 skaters.
Flynn McGurk finished as top British skater as he competed in all four of his events and finished in overall 28th position out of 74 skaters in the youth boys category.
His team-mate Warren Eve finished in 33rd place just behind Flynn in the top half of the rankings. Warren and Flynn thoroughly enjoyed taking part in their first European 30km road race.
Current cadet boys outdoor British champion James Eve gained some much needed experience on the European stage after showing great improvement on home soil and broke some personal goals that he had set for himself over in Belgium and improving his overall finish in the rankings to 35th from last year’s 40th position.
Eve, Lucy, Flynn and Warren all improved their 300m time trials over last year with Warren showing the biggest time improvement of over two and a half seconds!
Next up is a marathon event to be held at the Olympic Park in London closely followed by a visit back to Tatem Park the following weekend.
