Following the match, David wrote to Wisbech Town chairman John Petch.
Dear John,
JUST a short note to thank you for the hospitality shown towards my colleague Nick Mattlock and myself during our visit to Fenland Park (vs Stanway Rovers) recently.
We both agreed that the club was by far one of the friendliest we have visited, and found it difficult to concentrate on taking photographs due to number of supporters who stopped to talk to us.
When visiting with Langney Sports / Eastbourne Borough during the Southern League days, I recall the enthusiasm with which the Fenmen fans get behind their team, even when things weren't going well on the pitch, and this was no exception.
It was also very interesting to hear about (and view) the plans for your new ground and, while I will miss Fenland Park enormously, I also look forward to visiting your new home next season.
With best wishes for the future,
DAVID BAUCKHAM,
Eastbourne
