A KICKBOXER has been awarded a special belt, in recognition of his dedication to the sport.

Richard English, from West Walton, received the belt as the King's Lynn-based Cobra Academy of Martial Arts Student award winner for December.

Every three months instructor Dell Mann picks the student he believes has shown the most dedication and determination to kickboxing.

They keep the belt for three months before handing it over to the next winner. The student's name is also engraved in the belt.

Mr Mann said: "This award is not given to the best kickboxer in the academy. It's about rewarding students who have worked hard on their technique to improve themselves.

"I would like to congratulate Richard on this achievement, it is thoroughly deserved."

English recently received his blue belt and is aiming to become a black belt in two years.
