SIXTY members of Tydd St Giles Golf Club took part in their own version of the world famous Ryder Cup. Players were randomly split up to represent England and the rest of the world and played three matches: foursomes, fourball and singles over three days.

SIXTY members of Tydd St Giles Golf Club took part in their own version of the world famous Ryder Cup.

Players were randomly split up to represent England and the rest of the world and played three matches: foursomes, fourball and singles over three days.

The rest of the world team won by five points.

The previous weekend saw 132 players compete in the club's captains' day.

The competition was Stableford singles played off 3/4 handicap and the overall winner was the club's managing director Adrian Hurst, with 39 points.

Dave Pile was second with 37 points and John Nobbs was third with 36 points.

The ladies' section winner was Marie Taylor Vassal with 41 points, second was Lorraine Gallie with 33 points and Sue Racey came third with 28 points.
