A NEW karate school has opened in March.
Bushido Warrior Karate School opened on September 19 and welcomes anyone aged from five and there is no upper-age limit.
The school is run by Sensei Richard Smyth, a qualified instructor and coach with the British National Martial Arts Association.
He said: "This is an exciting time for both myself and the community and I have had a lot of interest from people of all ages.
"Karate gives children something to focus their energy on and it can instil discipline in them."
Classes will run at St John's Hall, on Station Road, initially from 7-8pm on Fridays but as the school grows other arrangements will be made.
The first lesson is free.
The school also holds classes in Walpole St Andrew Community Centre on Monday evenings.
For more information, telephone Mr Smyth on 01945 780725 or 07984 062122
