CHATTERIS KINGFISHERS

Kingfisher Masters Swimmers and Coach Jo Pearson competed in the National Masters Championships in Sheffield. Up against competition from from all over the country the team put in a remarkable performance to gain 16 pbs and 3 new Club Records.

Stephen Mavin continues his exceptional form to claim age group 1st place in the 100m Backstroke and 3rd place in the 50m Freestyle. To add to this he also claimed PB's in both events and set new Club Records as well as swimming to 1st place in 3 other events. The other Club Record went to Kevin Barter in the 100m Butterfly claiming 1st place with a PB. Dale Brown also put in fine swims in claiming three 1st and two 3rd place positions

The same weekend the Junior Squad travel to March to compete in the 'C' Final of the Junior Fenland League. With some of the younger swimmers competing in higher age groups the team put in an excellent performance to finish in third place behind March (2nd) and Huntingdon (1st) and claim no less than eleven 1st place positions and set sixteen new pb times.

Swimming well were Liam Oliver 1st in both the 50m Breaststroke and Backstroke (pb), and Matthew Halmshaw 1st in 50m Breaststroke (pb) and 100m IM Chloe Selman swimming up in some events put in extra effort to claim 1st in 25m Butterfly (pb), 3rd 50m Backstroke (pb), 4th 50m Breaststroke. and 5th 50m Butterfly. Jack Wilson also continues to show improvement claiming pbs in both the 50m Butterfly and Freestyle.

2nd Place - Rhiannon Stevenson 10/u 50m Breaststroke (pb); Mollie Allen 10/u 50m Freestyle; Matthijs Nooteboom 13/u 50m Freestyle; Kieran Penny 10/u 25m Butterfly; Liam Oliver 11/u 50m Breaststroke.

3rd Place - Andrew Charter 13/u 50m Backstroke (pb), Chloe Selman 10/u 50m Backstroke (pb), Lauren Stevenson 13/u 50m Freestyle.

The 8x25m Freestyle Relay Team of Kieran, Rhiannon, Jack, Chloe, James, Mollie A, Andrew, and Lauren came in 4th place.
