WISBECH men's first team are upwardly mobile in East Premier B thanks to Saturday's 9-2 victory at lowly Crostyx.

The fourth-placed visitors dominated from the start and a brace from Dan Martell got them going.

Brad Apted also scored two and Luke Smith's goal put Wisbech out of sight despite the home side scoring on the stroke of half-time.

The visitors continued to push forward in the second half and Martell took his tally to four, Apted completed his hat-trick and Joe Smith added a ninth before Crostyx scored a consolation.

Wisbech III built on their impressive performance last week with a good 2-1 win over Peterborough Exiles.

Both sides' defences stood firm during the first half but the Exiles broke the deadlock after the break.

But Wisbech rallied and goals from Matt Wate and Matt Goodwin gave them a lead that was protected by important late saves from keeper Edward Atkins.

Wisbech V had to wait for the breakthrough in their Division Seven match against Peterborough VIII on Saturday.

The first half remained goalless but strikes from Ashley Williams and Alex Jones after the break guided Wisbech to victory despite conceding a late goal.

A comfortable 7-3 win over neighbours Long Sutton booked Wisbech's place in the second round of the Mixed Hockey Trophy.

Wisbech were always in control and a brace apiece for Apted and Andy Mills, together with goals from Erika Burrell, Eli Atkins and Joe Melton clinched a good victory.
