Swimmers smash their personal bests

Spring Gala

Wisbech SC held the annual Spring Gala on Thursday. 72 swimmers from the Junior and Pre-Squad took part and for a few of the swimmers it was their first gala. The close competition with 114 personal best times set on the night provided a great atmosphere. At the end Smiling Smarties won with 115 points.

Final scores - Smiling Smarties 115, Bananas 106, Eat my Bubbles 91, Ryan’s Rockets 89, Darting Wasps 80.

Mini Meet

8 Swimmers from Wisbech competed in the COP’s mini meet. The meet consists of four Galas one in November, January, February and April then the points from all the events are added up and trophies are awarded to the top six swimmers in each age group.  In the 9yrs age group Hetty Beckett came first scoring 2,313 points and setting 8 personal best times over the 4 galas. Phoebe Gallagher with 2,721 point and 10 personal best times came 6th in the 10 yrs age group.

Girls 9yrs – Hetty Beckett 1st 2,313pts, Alice Dennis 10th 1,503pts, Emily Kelly 15th 1,199pts, 

Boys 9yrs – James Dobler 7th 336pts,

Girls 10yrs – Phoebe Gallagher 6th 2,721pts, Grace Cherry 14th 2,137pts

Girls 11yrs – Millie Hopkisson 22nd 1,298pts,

Boys 11yrs – Joshua Jeffries 16th 582pts,

A TEAM called Smiling Smarties came out on top at Wisbech Swimming Club s annual Spring Gala. A total 72 swimmers from the club s junior and pre-squad took part and an excellent 114 personal best times were set. Final scores: Smiling Smarties 115, Banan
