WISBECH Swimming Club sent a relatively small team to the ASA Novice Championships, on Sunday, but they returned with an impressive medal haul.

Only 12 swimmers competed in the tournament but between them, the team brought home 13 gold, 12 silver and five bronze medals.

The biggest individual success went to Kayleigh Quinn, competing in the 16-year-old age group, who won six gold medals in her six events.

Eilish Quinn won two golds and two silvers while Thomas Williams was also on top form to return with three golds and a silver medal.

Other first places went to Geri Tapner and Leah Harrington.

n THE club also took part in the Fenland Junior League meet on Saturday and there were several encouraging performances.

Competition was fierce but there were top points swims from Lee Clarke in the 50m freestyle, Jamie Sheldrick in the 50m butterfly and Thomas Kelly in the 100m individual medley.
