MARCH Tennis Club's A team gave their league survival hopes a massive boost when they beat third-placed Perkins 5-4.

Perkins turned up for the Peterborough and District Division Two match two players short, giving March an automatic 3-0 lead before play had started.

Captain Pat Amps and Justin Jackson then went on to win a further two games.

March B beat Castor B 6-3 away to remain second in the Peterborough and District Division Four.

David Turnbull and Sean Hackett, March B's most consistent pairing this season, won all three of their games.

The newly-formed pairing of Arron Marsh and John Treliving won two games with Steven Turnbull and Julian Austin winning March's other game.
