MARCH Town Flying Club's George Cooper picked up his fourth consecutive race win to claim the Newton Aycliffe trophy.
His blue stat van reet cock bird set off on the 155-mile trip from the north east in a light south wind at 7am on Saturday and came in at 11am.
It recorded a velocity of 1013.
Three other March teams took part.
FC Skoulding and Son recorded 983 and 952, M Bishop and son recorded 926 and Mrs and Mrs D Driver and Sons recorded 828.
The club's next competition will be 180 miles from Whitley Bay.
