An attack on the blind side saw quick ball produced by the forwards, Rudi Van de Merwe fed the ball to Shane Vickers who took it at pace to leave the Ely defence flat-footed and score a try that skipper Mark Laws converted with a minute of the half left.
From the start of the second half, the home side lifted their game. The forwards led by Ben Rogers began to assert themselves with Tom Martell on hand to seize upon any mistakes.
Centre Jacques Steynberg finished a move created by a burst by Vickers to score Wisbech's second.
Laws was again successful to make the score 14-0.
Wisbech were in control and full-back Craig Horran crossed the line for their third try.
