A skater from Wisbech has been crowned as the best in the country after another splendid season.
Youngster Arthur Buckler received his Mini Boys overall British Champion trophy after he sped to success at the 3,000m event at the British Marathon Championships last week.
He was joined by fellow Wisbech Inline Speed Skating stars Mike McInerney, who claimed bronze in the Senior Men’s category, Flynn McGurk, who took silver in the Cadet Boys half marathon and James Eve, who was runner-up in the Scholar boys 10,000m race.
A club spokesman said: “Arthur’s achievement is amazing and the whole club is proud of him.”
The club now has one more outdoor race to go in October before it shifts its focus onto the Indoor campaign which begins early next year.
If you are interested in joining the team, it trains at Skaters Roller Rink in Walpole Highway every Saturday at 5pm.
