SUPERB bowling from Ryan Waterschoot and Paul Strickle helped Wisbech Town's second team dismiss opponents Buckden for just 64 runs to claim a comfortable Hunts Division Two win on Saturday.

Wisbech coped with the wet track much better than the hosts and made full use of the conditions.

Buckden batted first and were all out within 31 overs.

None of their players managed to reach double figures.

From one end Strickle took 3-12 form his 12 overs, which included seven maidens, and at the other end, youngsters Waterschoot and Lyndon Waters ran the show.

Waterschoot finished with impressive figures of 3-25, and Waters took 2-17.

Knowing they needed to get the runs in 21 overs to gain extra bonus points, Gavin Plume (15) and Charles Baxter (17) perished chasing the runs but Ady Clare's 30 not out saw Wisbech home with three balls to spare.

A quickfire 55 from Keith Jakings helped Wisbech's second Sunday side to a comfortable Fenland Trophy victory over neighbours Chatteris.

After Jakings' dismissal Carl Pope carried on the fight, and went on to reach 34.

Useful contributions also came from Scott Wylie (18), Matt Parrin (13) and Lyndon Waters (11) as Wisbech set a more than useful 181-9.

With seven bowlers sharing the wickets, Wisbech dismissed their young opponents for 72.

All other Wisbech games were rained off over the weekend.

Leverington suffered an 85-run Fenland Trophy defeat at home to Doddington on Sunday.

The visitors' bowlers were in top form, dismissing Leverington for 61 in 28 overs.

Ben Pyle led the way, with 3-11, while Ivan Burgess took 3-14 and Jamie Long, John Palmer and Dan Martell took a wicket apiece.

Earlier Burgess had top-scored with 59 and Dan Bevis made 48 to help Doddington reach 146.

March Town first team fell just 26 runs short of their target, despite a fine 62 from Andrew Mills and 42 from Andrew Devenish, and lost ground in the Tucker League Division One on Saturday.

They were beaten by Nassington at The Avenue.

The win put the visitors on top of the table, while March are now fourth.

A Craig, in the middle order, was the mainstay of the Nassington innings with 38, as they finished on 164 all out.

March bowlers Steve Seymour (3-61), Chris Ringham (3-35) and Kurt Cunningham (3-26) were dominant, while Chris Peckett took 1-12.

In response, March opener Mills was in fine form, knocking 62, and No .3 Devenish hit 42, but none of their team mates could reach double figures and four were dismissed for ducks as March were all out for 141.
